The Black Crystal Dragon (Behind the Scenes - S01E05 “Sing for Me”)

This will be the only “behind the scenes” for this episode, as I find it difficult to cut it into several pieces… It’s longer than usual however (even though I cut the transformation to make it quicker), I hope you won’t mind. ;) 

This fight is very cool, as it happens in a very different layout than the usual “flat” battlefields, such as the Battle Arena, and against a flying monster. 

It’s also the first time we see Iris do a very powerful spell on her own (”Crystal Exitus”), powerful enough to punch a dragon and destroy a mountain.

And even though it’s very short, we also see Gramorr doing something else beside yelling : grabbing the dragon head and smashing it like it is nothing. 

What we wanted to convey was the feeling that while Iris is growing, she still has a long way to go and Gramorr musn’t be taken lightly. 

And as always with storyboard shots, you can try to find what made its way to the final episode, and find out what else was changed / removed. ;)
